The Dubrovnik airport is situated here. The valuable parish church of St. Nicholas, dating from the 14th Century and reconstructed in 1815, with the belfry tower from the year of 1890, stood here until the year 1991 when its interior has been destroyed by the Serbian and Montenegrin army and the entire church was severely damaged. This caused the disappearance of one of the finest and most beautiful churches in the area of Dubrovnik.
