No title - expert review Marble accents and reproductions of ancient paintings recall ancient Rome in this elegant, small hotel near the Colosseum. More modern is the residential neighborhood, the Suburra, once rather louche but now coming up in the world. The tasteful neoclassical-style decor includes custom-designed furni... fodors.com

Completely renovated, the Duca d'Alba retains an old-fashioned air (it was built in the 19th c.). The guest rooms have elegant Roman styling, with sooth... frommers.com

Not what I expected. - user review As far as the cleanliness, this hotel was fine. The hotel staff spoke spoke English very well, however they were not as helpful as I expected in sending us in the right direction. Thankfully, the hotel was located witing feet of the Cavour Metro Station, so getting around was not so bad after all. T... expedia.com

Could be better - user review Our room was separate from the main hotel and we were mixed in with permanent residents. Didn't quite understand that arrangement but it made for a noisier atmosphere. Also, the air conditioning was not adequate for the warm weather we had. I will commend them on the cleanliness of the room, the fro... expedia.com
Nice Hotel - user review The hotel was in a nice location to see the old side of Rome. A short walk down the street led us right to the coliseum which was nice as we went back several times, to include evenings. Matter of fact, we walked to everything in Rome, to include the Vatican. Plenty of places to eat near by and the ... expedia.com

Perfect Location & Roman Charm - user review We pulled up to the hotel and knew we had picked a winner! On a narrow, stone road, it was the perfect spot to spend a week in Rome. Small and a bit shabby - user review We stayed for two nights at the Duca D'Alba and found the rooms to be clean but also on the small and somewhat old and shabby side. There was the constant smell of stale cigarette smoke in our room, which I found quite annoying ( but I guess by european standards it's okay ). The staff was always he... fodors.com
