Jurjevo is a seaside fishing village of about 500 inhabitants, situated on the coast of the Velebit channel, 10 km south from Senj. On this site there used to be an important ancient settlement which later sank into the sea. The near-by slopes of Velebit are covered with pine trees. Today it is a seaside resort and the centre of the wood and timber industry of that region. There is also the hydro-electric power station Senj and the Istra Hotel. A motor camp and the Kalic Hotel are situated in the Kalic cove.
